IMT Mines Albi

A school of the ministry of industry, the higher national school of mines of Albi-Carmaux is part of the Mines-Telecom Institute, which is today the first group of schools of engineering and management in France.  IMT Mines Albi is also an associate member of the “Federal University of Toulouse Midi-Pyrénées” and partner to a great number of institutions and prestigious universities in France and abroad. These privileged partnerships make it a welcoming “grand école” and research centre, rich in opportunities, and in economic and professional development prospects.

Being cosmopolitan by definition, IMT Mines Albi gives everyone the opportunity to broaden their cultural, professional and social horizons. With 140 partnership agreements with foreign universities, our school receives 20% international students from almost 30 different nationalities on campus each year.

The UNESCO world heritage town of Albi is situated in the south of France, Midi Pyrenees Region. Its year-round mild climate inspires an outdoor lifestyle with cycling, mountain hiking and rugby in the forefront. Within a 2-hour radius, students can ski the powder slopes of Pyrénées, clear their head on breath-taking hikes or plunge into the azure Mediterranean Sea. The immediate countryside surrounding Albi closely resembles Tuscany in Italy with undulating landscape, villages, regional fare, and age-old vineyards.

Its major advantages are the dynamic university and cultural life, its astonishing architecture, and the proximity to Toulouse, a cosmopolitan city of 1 million, described by the Lonely Planet as “one of the France's liveliest and fastest-growing cities”.

The inspirational Campus of Mines Albi, designed by the famous architect Martin Robain, is set on 22 hectares, with 40,000 m2 of buildings and amphitheaters equipped to regularly welcome congresses and international symposiums.

Mines Albi advocates a healthy mind - healthy body approach, providing students with a well-equipped sporting complex including soccer and rugby fields, basketball, volleyball, tennis, and handball courts, a climbing wall, a gym with weight lifting equipment, and a dance studio.

Mines Albi is rated the 3rd Engineering School in France for its conviviality, for the activity of the 30 Associations on its Campus, its sport infrastructure, and its diversity.
